Detective Bureau The investigation of crimes and incidents which occur within Mansfield Township is a primary job responsibility of the Mansfield Township Police Department. In order to properly perform this important duty, the Department established a full time Investigations Bureau on November 6, 2006. To staff this Bureau, also created at that time was the first full time detective position in the Department’s history. Although the initial investigation of most incidents is performed by the uniformed members of the Patrol Bureau, the Department’s detective responds to and assumes the lead role in the investigation of any serious or complex incident. Additionally, the detective is able to dedicate the time necessary to provide prompt follow-up on reported crimes to enable the Department to successfully conclude the investigation. In addition to reactive investigative work, the Investigations Bureau maintains databases which allow analysis of crime trends. With this information, the Department is able to provide intelligence-based policing and enact proactive measures to prevent new crimes from occurring. If you have any questions, or would like more information, call (609) 298-4411 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, or send an e-mail to detectivebureau@mansfieldpd.org. Tip Line For community tips and suspicious activities that you feel the Detective Bureau should be informed of, please don't hesitate to e-mail using this link: Detectivebureau@mansfieldpd.org
